Abstract: | In the past years, “Save the Bees” campaigns have led to an increased public interest for bees and beekeeping. At the same time, research is showing potential negative impacts of beekeeping on wild pollinator populations. My research focusses on reconciling these two narratives, through field experiments on competition between honeybees and wild bumblebees, in collaboration with beekeepers. This presentation will introduce this topic through summarising the literature and the gaps that exist.
